We really want to thank Supermarket workers and their families!
Most people have been able to shield and hide at home during lockdown and pandemic. but Supermarket workers have had to deal face to face with people coughing, sneezing and in some cases contaminating them, often with limited PPE.
They have been the subject of unacceptable abuse such as people spitting at them, being verbally abusive, deliberately coughing directly at them and displaying physical violence toward them and yet have dealt it in most cases professionally and kindly.
We are sure they would rather be at home shielding than being exposed to the Pandemic and taking it home to their families, either way they deserve much more than they are paid and we believe they have performed an excellent job in keeping us all fed and watered through this difficult time.
