Hoarder Cleaners & House Clearances Services

Social service and mental health agents are constantly looking for professional and expert cleaning contacts. This is the main reason Shropshire Expert Cleaners LTD created a specialist solution just for them.

Since 2016, Shropshire Expert Cleaners LTD has moved into work requiring one off or specialist cleaning requirements. From hoarder cleans to disease outbreaks, after death cleans to suicides we offer service, care and communication that is rated as 5*.

Shropshire Expert Cleaners LTD is bespoke for each client. Generally we only deal with more specialist cleaning for social services, councils or housing associations.

Even though they already have cleaning teams we tend to take over when it goes beyond basic cleaning skills. We have come to have a "will take anything on and will make anything look excellent afterward" reputation.

Our high level services have taken us around much of the country helping many different businesses, companies and residential needs. From basic cleaning to specialist cleans requiring disinfection of walls we are able to provide appraisals and a full cost evaluation.

For premises or facilities within Telford, Shrewsbury Wolverhampton & Birmingham we provide free visits and quotations. Outside of these areas we reserve the right to charge a call out fee to view. We will let you know if this is the case although we try not to do this if possible.

We have worked with or entered company entities such as:

  • Shrewsbury Council, Shropshire Council, housing associations & mental health tenants

  • Vunerable facilities such as security companies, elderly homes and private schools

  • Telford Council & housing associations

  • BAE systems

  • Relocation companies

Working With Social Workers and Families

Many hoarder clearances are arranged by a social worker, housing officer, adult social care team or worried relative. The team can attend a joint visit, agree a plan with everyone involved, and send photographs and a written record when the work is done. Where the person is staying elsewhere, timings are coordinated so the home is ready for their return. The hoarder clearance service page explains more.

How a Hoarder Clearance Is Planned

  1. A free, private assessment of the property and any hazards.

  2. A written quote and plan agreed with the person or their representative.

  3. Belongings sorted into keep, donate and dispose, with paperwork and valuables set aside.

  4. Waste removed lawfully under a waste carrier licence.

  5. The property cleaned and disinfected, room by room.

  6. A written record with photographs supplied at the end.

A Non-Judgemental Approach to Hoarding

Hoarding is recognised as a mental health condition, and the people living with it are often embarrassed, anxious or frightened of losing control of their belongings. The team works at the person's pace. Nothing is thrown away without agreement, valued items and paperwork are set aside, and the person is involved in decisions as far as they want to be. The aim is a safe, usable home, not an empty one. The team has also discussed hoarding on BBC Radio Shropshire.

Working Across Telford

The team is based in Madeley and works across the whole of Telford and Wrekin every week. That includes the older terraces and former mining cottages of Madeley, Ironbridge, Dawley and Oakengates, the 1960s and 1970s estates of Brookside, Sutton Hill, Woodside, Stirchley and Hollinswood, newer homes in Lawley, Priorslee and Ketley, and villages such as Newport, Shifnal, High Ercall and Edgmond. Being local means short travel times, quick site visits and a team that knows the housing stock and its common problems.

Specialist-Only Work

The company does not provide regular, standard, one-off or standard end-of-tenancy cleaning. In Telford and across the region it focuses only on specialist jobs: after-death and trauma cleaning, biohazard cleaning, hoarder and house clearance, mould removal and hospital-grade disinfection.

Why Clients Trust the Team

  1. Specialist experience since about 2009, working for councils, schools, landlords, solicitors and families.

  2. NHS-validated disinfection technology with an up to 99.9999% kill rate against over 260 pathogens.

  3. Over 90 schools treated across Birmingham, Dudley, Wolverhampton, Telford and Shrewsbury, with 3,000+ rooms decontaminated.

  4. £10m public liability insurance.

  5. Emergency lines open 24/7.

Giving Back

Usable items from clearances are passed to charities wherever possible, and since 2022 the company has given just over £30,000 of donations in items and services. During the pandemic it also cleaned NHS workers' homes for free while they were on shift, with staff still paid for that work.

Frequently Asked Questions
